Congratulations to the 16 new Certified Recovery Peer Advocates (CRPA) and the 10 new Community Health Workers (CHW) who graduated this month! These graduates have been offered positions at partner organizations and are ready to support our community members.
With the $654,554 grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) through the Opioid Workforce Expansion Program (OWEP) Paraprofessionals program, SI PPS will train 240 CRPAs and CHWs during the three-year grant period. These CRPAs and CHWs will support the provision of Opioid Use Disorder and other Substance Use Disorder prevention, treatment, and recovery services on Staten Island.
